Mirnyi and Nestor capture Brisibane trophy

Top seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor captured their fifth tour-level title together on Sunday as they defeated second seedsJurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner 6-1, 6-2 in the Brisbane International final.
The Belarusian-Canadian team lost just 10 points on serve and converted four of six break points to claim victory over last year’s US Open champions in 53 minutes.
They won their first four titles last year in their first full season together, triumphing at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in Memphis (d. Butorac-Rojer), Roland Garros (d. Cabal-Schwank), the Shanghai Rolex Masters (d. Llodra-Zimonjic) and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals (d. Fyrstenberg-Matkowski).
"It’s very satisfying yet very different, because from the beginning of the week till the end of the week it seemed like we were two different teams," confessed Mirnyi, referring to a Match Tie-break win overMatthew Ebden and Chris Guccione in the first round. "Obviously it’s difficult to come from the US, and we were lucky to get out of the first match against a tough Aussie team. Today I thought we played pretty good quality tennis and I’m happy to win a title."
"We played an unbelievable tournament," added Nestor. "The first match of the year, the Aussies played really well and we were a little bit lucky to get through it. That’s usually how it works, you get through a match like that and then you gain more confidence."
Austrian-German duo Melzer and Petzschner tasted defeat in a tour-level final together for the first time after starting out 5-0.
